Here was my thought process as I wrote the script for this particular comic:
1. I like Robert E. Howard way more than I like H.P. Lovecraft.
2. I need to finish my Dragonball Z spoof.
3. That pun wasn’t just going to go away. It needed a home.
4. Set’s power level was over 9000
Here’s a half-arsed explanation, though. Set was thought to be a Great Old One so at the very least they’d be similar in power and Set pretty much sucker punched ‘Thulu while Wil was distracting him.
Old ‘tulu must have been groggy because the stars were not right.
Cthulu should be stronger than that
